yes, yay for oregonians. i've said it before- but it strikes me that there are quite a few oregonians on this forum. and, not to worry- i shall return to the emerald city in the near-ish future.
thanx for the welcome and the offer of help.
i think (i hope) i've fixed most of our begginer's mistakes as per advice from this forum;
-got rid of bark that ignorant pet store employee said i needed and got repti-carpet.
-still keep the radiant heat bulb on to battle winter's clutch, but also got him a UTH.
-gave him a humid-hide.
-let him eat as much as he wants everyday rather than a set number every other day.
-vary his diet with crickets and mealworms (maybe a roach colony in the future?)
-got him a digi-thermometer with a probe to acurately measure temps.
-in the process of building him a cool crafty stryofoam/grout faux rock wall backround complete with basking ledges and hides.

for the first couple weeks he would just huddle in his hide on the warm side all day and night, only rousing himself to eat. i realize that he was prolly just adjusting to his new surroundings as well, but after making these changes he seems much more active and happy! yay!

Hey you two, welcome to the forum.
Quite a good looking couple.
It's uncanny how much Justin and
I look alike. What do you think, Amy?
Take care. Hj
