grumpy face

I've adopted a male leopard gecko that a friend was unable to take care of due to school and such. He's beautiful and healthy, but he is very very grumpy. No attempts to bite, but the minute I pick him up he gets all squirmy and bent out of shape if I don't put him down. He doesn't seem to be getting used to being handled at all. Do you have any suggestions?

If you just got him I would give him some time to get used to the change before messing with him too much. Then you can start handling him for short periods of time gradually increasing the time spent holding him and he should get used to you. Good luck!
