Grumpy Leo

I'm gonna tell you what I've noticed and please tell me if you experience stuff like this before.
My Leo just woke up and came out of his hide, I'm on the couch right next to his tank. He climbs on the glass and stares at me when he wants to come out the tank and venture around the living room. I'm a lil tired so I didn't let him out and this is what happened.

I keep a accurite digital thermometer in his tank at all times, I out the probe under the edge of his hot hide so it stays on the tile where he lays. I have the wire running up the tank and out the lid and it comes back in the tank on the other side. I leave the thermometer unit on top of his cool side hide in the corner of the tank to measure his cool side temps.

So I don't let him out since I'm tired. He walks up on top his cool hide and pushes the thermometer unti down on the ground and it makes a loud noise since it's plastic and his tank has porcelain tile on the floor.
He walks back to the front of the tank and looks at me for minute but I don't let him out.

He pushes his humid hide (Tupperware container) all the way over to the hot side and it's noisey when he pushes it on the tile floor. He comes back again and looks at me but I don't look at him. He gets on top his castle decoration and flips it over while he's standing on it. It falls down and makes a loud noise again.

At this point I'm laughing out loud because it seems like he's throwing a temper tantrum because I won't let him out. He walks over to his calcium lid and steps right on the edge and flips it over so now I have calcium powder to clean up. He basically wrecked his tank lol. Then to make things even better he just pooped on the floor and he went into his hot hide to go to sleep I guess.

I think it's very funny but wonder if you have ever seen your Leo do anything like this? I need to get a camcorder so I can record a video of him doing this so I can show you guys.
I just wanted to share a funny story with you real quick I figured you'd get a good laugh out of it. Well I gotta go now as I have a messy cage to clean lol. I'll talk to you guys tomorrow lol..

Well he's not exactly a little Leo. He's a 4yrs olds raptor male about 9 1/2-
9 3/4 inches long. I don't know his exact weight but he's probably around 70 grams.

It was so funny last night, I was laughing so loud I couldn't believe he was doing it again. The first two times he did it I thought nothing of it but now I know he is throwing a fit when he does it lol..

I don't have a camcorder, I have a camera that records video but it was so late when he did it last night that I didn't even think about recording it.
Next time he does it I will at least take pictures of it. I figured you guys would get a good laugh from this I know I did and I had to clean it all up.

I got to get a actual video of him doing it so you guys can see him in the process. Normally he just knocks over the thermometer and pushed the hide around, this was the first time he flipped the castle and flipped his calcium dish.
It was very funny he has quite the personality lol..

haha Sounds exactly like my big male. When he wants to come out and explore and I don't let him, he throws a little hissy fit sometimes. Luckily the most he's done was knock over the water dish and shed his bathroom paper towel before giving up to go back to sleep. It's still amusing though.

I have one of those stone water bowls so he can't flip it, I'm sure if it was plastic he would of flipped it over tho. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one on here with a moody Leo.
I tried to feed him a superworm today and he looked at me and walked away. Almost like he is mad at me. Today is the fifth day he hasn't ate so I figured he would be hungry, there's always tomorrow..

I have a glass water dish and he can knock it about when he wants to sometimes, he's pretty big lol And sometimes my moody boy will go awhile without being hungry, he's started eating less often now that he's fully grown. He can still pack them down when he is hungry though so I never worry too much. Not to mention that fact that he's incredibly lazy... haha

LOL and i thought my Yoshi was a grump :main_rolleyes:

Would love to see your little guy in action :)

I have a few that will tip up calcium dishes seemingly on purpose and last night when i went to feed Freya her calcium dish was the right way up floating around in her water dish and ive no idea how she did that :main_huh:

Otherwise mine just have the wall flapping tantrums till you pick them up or they get bored :p

I sold the grumpy guy to someone who needed a male raptor for a breeding project, I told him how he throws fits and he emailed me the next day and said he was doing it again lol.

I'm switching to repashy calcium powder today so I won't need to keep a bowl in the cage lol. I'm getting a new Leo today tho, a baby Mack snow female, hopefully she doesn't throw a fit lol..
