Gutloading with Tropical Fish Food?

Has anyone ever heard of this? The local reptile store keeps telling me I don't need a commercial gut load (he doesn't even sell any) and to do this instead. I'm a little leery of it and I wanted to know if this is common?

I don't want to do anything to my little guy that will harm him, but I also don't want to mess with mixing my own gut load (reason I wanted a commercial gutload).

Any input will be greatly appreciated!

I have had bad luck with commercial gut-loads. I make my own mixes with various foods. Tropical fish food has worked well for me, and the crickets seem to love it.

Will any tropical fish food do? If I do that, what else do I have to gutload with other then the tropical fish food?

I have also heard tropical fish food is good. I personally have something called top hat calicum enriched cricket food. Pretty cheap like $4 a good sized jar of it. The crickets eat it, I also put a veggie in or something.

Tropical fish food works.
Protein content is good.....
but is on the more costly side.
For $8.00 for 40 pounds at a
farm type store, you can buy
"Layer Hen Crumbles."
One of the best fortified gut loads,
especially for the cost.
Prey food love it and get prepared
to help strengthen our
laying (hen) geckos.
Take care. HJ
