I have one that acts almost like a cuddly kitten when held. Funny story about her is that never let me hold her at all for two years. She had this whole incident with getting stuck in a rock ledge I bought from a pet store. We had to very carefully cut a hole in the ledge to get her out. She understandably didn't trust people much after that. She would bite non stop if you picked her up and the only way I could move her was to gently hold her with a soft towel. She ended up getting moved into my room. She got used to me by seeing me a lot more often. Eventually she turned into the cuddly little creature she is now. She now climbs onto my hand to be held and if put on the floor she'll follow me around.

They all have their own personalities and temperament. I have one (Iggy) who LOVES to be held & out of his cage. He is the only one that will allow my kids to hold him. I have another (Mimosa) who is very friendly and responds well to my voice & touch but scared of heights!! She doesn't like to be picked up and I have to have a hole in the side of her humid hide because she doesn't like to climb in the top! (she's big too! My biggest one!)

My other three are still new (had them under 2 months). I think it takes a while for them to trust us. I think it just takes time & patience, plus respecting what they are comfortable with. Age has a lot to do with it too!

Iv had a male DB for a year now and he still does not like to be handled. He has a patented move I like to call "the sliding head butt" :) He runs at me full speed and stops and literally slides on all 4's for about a quarter of the enclosures length. He never bits, or opens his mouth to indicate he wants to bite, but just head butts my hand all the time. Then he walks around the cage like he owns the place!! :main_evilgrin: As many times as he has done it to me it still shocks the crap out of me :p

i had mine for 5 months, never tried to pick her up, then one day i stuck my hand in the tank and she climbed on it. Ever since then i take her out all the time and she really likes it.
