Hanging out in his humid hide?

Hey guys.

I'm sure this has probably been brought up and I just can't find it, but my guy is doing something... odd.

For a good week now, he's been in humid hide all day. He comes out at night. He's eating. He seems to be pooping just fine. But after a couple hours of being out, he goes right back in to his humid hide and stays there.

He shed after being in his humid hide a couple days, so I know that isn't the issue. Nothing else has changed in his cage. He still has his cool hide and his warm hide. Temp hasn't changed.

Do leos sometimes just get funky and do weird stuff like this? Or does it sound like there could be a medical problem?

Mine seem to do this if they have eaten something that takes some extra work to digest... like a different feeder or sometimes if I change suppliers.
They get over it after a week or so

Ahh... So his major pig out a while back may just be sitting kinda heavy then?
(Seriously, the boy mouwed down a good 25 worms in one night.)

Could be.

If you have the ability it can't hurt to get a fecal done to be sure he's not having any parasite issues.

I would double check the temps on the hot side too incase they need raising a touch

I'll do that. Thanks!

And my savannah monitor girl will be going to the vet this next week, so I'll see if they can maybe squeeze Gex in. Better to be safe...

I was wondering that. Everything else seems to be business as usual with this guy, except for his recent love of his humid hide.
Oh... and while he used to mearly tolerate me. He pretty much hates me now. I can reach in and touch him, but I don't dare touch him. I get a very long huff and he does his best to get away.
He behaves for everyone else. Its just me.:main_rolleyes:

I'll take him in for a check up just to be safe, though.
