Has anybody used R-Tech foam insulation for backgrounds?

My local home depot and lowes do not carry the Owens Corning extruded polystyrene that everyone else seems to use so i was wondering if anybody has used this for their background:

R-Tech 2 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft. Foam Insulation-310887 at The Home Depot

If so, how easy is it to cut? What would you suggest to cut it? And when I'm ready to grout it, do i just paint the grout on, let it dry and do another coat? I see people saying to mist it while it's drying or something or else it will crack.

As long as you seal it properly just about any foam will work. If you havent checked it out already look up Lizardlandscapes on YouTube. He does alot of how to videos on making things for reptiles out of foam. His stuff is amazing.

you're right about any foam will work, it's just extruded polystyrene is wayyyyy easier to cut and work with and I'd like to know if this is it. And thanks for the lizardlandscapes, I just checked it out and his stuff is pretty incredible

Jakehinds, I would just be careful with things that have chemicals mixed into them to keep out bugs and mold and stuff... If sealed properly it shouldn't be aproblem, but if not those could leach out and some how harm your animals... this is more prevelant when making backgrounds for aquariums like I do I use either the white poly that looks like a bunch of balls pressed together or the blue/pink foam from HD or Lowes and take the plastic off.
