I have a crested gecko with a "hump back". I believe its a calcium deposit defect. He still walks, jumps, climbs fine. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had this defect before?

I got him yesterday, i went into a pet store and they had him in a "closet like/ cabnet" with all the "unwanted pets"...(ya know just waiting for him to die)i felt bad for him, i figured id give him a good home instead of a closet

wow.... dum pet store... we should put that pet shop in the closet!! errr...

but good for you! every creature does deserve a good home. way to go, to come to the rescue!!

.... or maybe someone else that couldn't take care of it dropped it off to the pet shop...

but regardless i hope the gecko is in a better place now.

I've seen an anole like that before, it lived a long, normal life. The back was even more deformed than this one, though. I think it'll be fine, good luck!

I figured if he doesn't live long, the time that he has in his new home is like paradise compared to the closet shelf.

I've seen things like that before, mostly caused by calcium defiency at a young age.
