Just wondering....

I have a leopard gecko who has toes...barely any nails (they've always been like that) and she's never really had any grip. My other girls can climb well and walk fine, but this one walks like shes skating, and can only climb up and not down lol She can climb to the second level but then she will just jump off the side of the level to get down :( I hope it doesnt hurt her...or when she tries to get down, she can't seem to grip enough to let her down easy..even on the rocky ramp...she just slides right down it. The other girl can go up and down no problem. It's weird lol any thoughts?

If you don't have a reptile carpet you could try that and see if she gets anymore traction

Just thoughts, Spots......
Young age and/or

The lack of nails may just be a physical deformation, wouldn't really worry about it unless its affecting her health. Heck I had a gecko who got his tail stuck and ended up dropping both his tail and his back legs. Just the way the cookie crumbles I guess...

I prefer to stay away from carpet from past experiences and research

No signs of MBD (yet?) I'll maybe use an extra dusting of calcium in the week. My vet mentioned to watch the calcium intake as too much can be dangerous too. There are barely any nails. When she walks on my arm, you can barely feel the little pricks. My other girl's nails, man she can scratch you good! lol

I'm thinking its just a physical thing...like how some people have a smaller big toe than the middle toe lol Just didn't know if it was caused by a lack of something but good to know that no one has said anything to be concerned about :)

P.s how did he drop his back legs?!!?

Well his tail got stuck and both his tail and his back legs fell off, freak accident I guess. We fortunately were able to stitch him up but now the poor thing just crawls around on his front legs only.

That is the weirdest thing ever. I never heard of that before. I don't think they can actually "drop" their legs. It would be really scary to see coming home from work. lol you should post a picture or a video of him crawling around. lol
