Hatchling issues

I took a two year hiatus with my crested group and just started to get hatchlings again at about 10 per week. My mortality rate was extremely low before but now I have a problem. We have since moved to a new house with a very dry basement. Even with misting on a regular basis I've recently lost three hatchlings. Their toes appear fused so I am 99% sure it's a humidity issue although two hatched in that condition in the past two weeks. All sub-adults and adults are fine. I give my own injections to tortoises if needed, do my own parasite tx, etc. but this one has me stumped.

To raise humidity maybe instead of going high-tech you should try thinking primitive? Id try to add a lot of live big potted plants in your basement, with all that moist dirt it should raise humidity. Maybe you could even use a humidifier?? There should be SOME ways to raise humidity a bit.
