hatchling shed issues

I have one baby about a month old now who just has trouble shedding. Any ideas on how to help? He's set up like everyone else and is the first gecko I've had any shed issues with. He gets all ghosty but then can't seem to pull the skin off. Should I put something rough like a small log or something in there?
