Hatchlings with missing foot?

it's happened twice now. First i thought it was a fluke, or an accidentt hat i didit notice, but today, i had a baby haych with the same thing. its front right foot is all but missing. Two little toes that curl backwards. They seem fine, alert, running around like normal, it just seems that they have a stump.

What could cause this? Calcium/Vitamin deficient mother?

nope, this is my first season ever. Both partents came from very different places.
