Hey guys! This is my first leo and I actually haven't seen it drink water ever. I placed a water bowl with fresh water and a calcium container in his tub but I haven't seen him drink nor lick calcium. Should this be an issue?

This is her (or him) btw:

I wouldn't worry about seeing it drink water as long as it produces a urate (white part on poop). Reptiles are very efficient at putting moisture to use that it's urine is solidified when excreted. As long as you've been dusting the food then it should be fine.

I've had my Leo for two months and have not once seen her lick her calcium or drink, but I see feet marks in her calcium and she always has a decent sized urate with her poo. So long as you see the signs of it I would say its safe to assume they are getting what they need!

In your calcium dish, press the calcium down with something smooth to make the surface completely flat. The next day, you should see tongue or chin prints in it. Unless you're up all night and sit by the tank the whole time you're not going to see an activity that only lasts a few seconds a day.

I have had my male leo (Marvin) for 4 years now.. I just saw him drink water for the first time last week. I sat there the whole time and was shocked haha! If your geckos poop has the white part on it (the urate) then that means it's getting water.

My new leo I've had for only about a month, and I've seen him both drink and lick up calcium. But I would not be concerned if you haven't seen it. I agree with the posters above, nothing to worry about.
