Ive recently added a adult Blazing Blizzard to my group. But I cant get her to eat.I use mealies as my staple but she just walks over them like they arent there.
Im not sure she even sees them.
I will be getting some crickets this weekend so hopefully that will get her going.
BUT Im curious does anyone think certain morphs or eye colors affect vision? She does seem to be a little less reactive to visual stimuli or she maybe she is just a bit slow to react overall.

She has odd eyes btw, one solid black and one snake eye.

I think mine has horrible vision or might be blind in one eye as well. If she stalks a cricket that's moving and the cricket stops, she keeps walking right over it, and a couple seconds later she realizes it's not there anymore.

Years ago I traded a gorgeous 8ft pastel boa for a pair of shtct and as they grew they both had vision problems. One was completely bliind in one eye and hers eyes were different sizes.I had to hand feed her.
I was so ripped off on that deal, couldnt breed them at all.

I dont buy babies anymore if I can help it.
But this new adult has me concerned.

The only eye pigment trait that I have ever seen cause any issue with vision is with Albinos under bright lights. That is only because there eyes are much more sensitive. Bright heat lamps and UV bulbs can potentially damage a geckos eyes over time as well as a lack of proper supplementation. Not saying that is the cause, just that they are possible causes. Have theses geckos been checked out by a herp vet? I am sure they could give you some insight on hat is going on.

Its just the one that I have, that seems to have issues and she came from a very reputable breeder, doubt she needs a vet.
The herp vet wont know diddly squat.. Basically I can tell what she will do, look the animal over, do some expensive tests(probably a fecal or such), pass her around to the "student vets" and finally tell me, yes she has some vision problems just watch her weight then charge me 200 bucks.
Ive taken a few animals in the past and I have yet to have her tell me something I didnt already know and not do more damage then good.
Im sure that there are some great ones out there but not around here.I trust our local vet more.

I don't think albino eyes are worse except in bright light. The gecko I have with the worst vision was pure Afghan X mack raptor, he has dark eyes like and afghan but can see for crap
