We've had our new gecko for about a week now and I finally made a little bit of headway in working with him on not being so "eek a human, hide!!" everytime I do our nightly feeding routine. I'm happy to say tonight he actually didn't run into his hidey hole when I walked in AND he stayed out for the whole feeding! And when I *slowly* put my hand in, like I've been doing every night, he actually got down on his belly and low crawled up to it, stretching his neck out further until his head was about 1/4 inch away, before eventually backing up and turning around. It was actually quite cute and fascinating to watch, it was almost like when a cat or dog cautiously checks someone out. Anywho, I am quite excited about today's progress and had to share. Anyone else have experience working with a timid gecko? Our other one wasn't shy in the least so this is a new learning exp for us.
