If she is not ready to accept the male, they might end up fighting again. I would make sure that she is fully recovered and is ovulating and receptive before considering putting them together again.

we just had someone post a pic of their leo that was attacked by a male during breeding.IMO your male is not suitable for breeding if the male did alot of damage to your female.Your asking for trouble if u put them together again.I wouldnt chance it

I don't understand...is this a troll? You've created like four threads and are asking the same questions, or you could've asked them in one thread. Everytime someone gives you a valid question you answer them saying they're wrong so why are you asking the question. I don't mean to sound mean or anything, don't get me wrong but why are you asking questions you don't want answers to.

If he ripped off pieces of her skin I wouldn't want to put them back together. Would you want to chance it? And as Roger stated was she ovulating. If you want your questions answered, and to learn you have to help us out by working with us ;)

Easy tiger. this is dad stepping in for the twelve year old son. I understand your concern, as he did not give you the details....

What he failed to mention was that he had his leos out for tank cleaning, and he had all of his leos on the bed at once. (2 males and 2 females). He did not know better. my guess is his breeder male noticed the presence of his pet male, and went into attack mode. The result was a serious injury to one of the females that the breeder male successfully bred to in the past without issue.

We have nursed the wounds and the female is now healthy again but is still a bit under weight. He wants to start breeding again but is afraid to put the breeder male in with the female (that was not injured) by themselves, because he read on this forum that it should always be 1.2, not 1.1 for aggression reasons.

So really his question is, he has 1 female ready to breed, and one male ready to breed. Would he be better off putting just those two together, or would he be better off puting the male and the female and the previously injured female together to avoid the 1.1 only?

Thanks for your help. Ev is new so bare with him. I assure you he is not a troll, just a forum newbie. I will expain to him not to double post.

i will let him reply from here. thanks for your patience guys!

A breeding female needs to be at least minimum 50 grs.Next thing is u need to make sure she is ovulating.Flip her over and look at her belly.for her to be ovulating u need to see a small pink spot on her belly. Its pink colour like a pencil eraser. If u dont see this pink spot and u throw her in with the male the female will fight the male because she is not receptive.u can search this site for pics of ovualating females. If she is ovulating u can put her in with the male.Watch them closely for a few minutes to make sure they are ok.Very rareley is copulation seen that is why we keep them together for 5-6 days.If i were to keep 1:1 together permanently the male would constantly try to mate with the femal and strees her beyond belief. There are some of the big breeders that keep colonies of 1:5 and that is because they want ot optomize room .If both females are ovulating and proper weight u can put both in.Hope Ive helped
