So i have a Basking bulb on one side gets about 110 close up high and 90 lower level area. The cool area which also has a bulb over it hits about 84-87. I notice he vents at both areas and i am wondering if he needs a cooler spot where he doesn't need to vent? Or is the spot that has the bulb over it that's in the 84-87 range fine? Reason i ask this is after eating he seems to run all over place venting, running, trying to get out of cage. He becomes brighter in color looks kinda frustrated.

Temps seem fine but you can cool things down on that side if you feel he's too hot.

Another solution would be to provide a hide on the cool side for him to go into to really cool down.

The running around, dancing on the glass, and being a spaz is pretty normal, though. The bright color is a good sign in most cases.. Just as long as you don't see dark circles on his tummy, as those are stress marks.

i would agree with both star and lena in this situation. i would have to say take the heat off of the cool side. if the hot side reaches 110 degrees tahts fine, so it doesnt matter what cool side is. as long as he can get to that spot of 120-115 degrees
