Heat pad or heat lamp?

I am planning on purchasing another Leopard gecko and was wondering which would be better to use, a heat pad or heat lamp? I currently use heat pads for my current Leos, but my friend gave me a 100-watt heat bulb and a 20-watt UV night bulb, and I don't want to spend more money if these are okay. So, are these okay or should I get rid of them both and just purchase a heat pad?
