With the heat getting turned on in the house last night, we didn't realize how much it affected our temps. Hot side temped in today after work at 108F. Everyone was laying as far into the cool side of the tub as they could... I turned down the dimmer... What else should I look for?

Also slid the tubs out a bit so they were off they heat while everything cools down. Opened a few windows in the room hoping to lower the air temp a bit. Everyone is still laying lazily on their cold side... But are alert when I open the tub so they are all still alive. As soon as I let them be they plop right back down to sleep though.

I'm probably panicking for nothing, but even in FL with no AC I never had heat spikes go over 103*F.

omg, that's dangerous. Make sure they all have water and have cooled down.

My first heat control investment was a dimmer. I had weird fluctuations with my temps. After about a month of frustration with the temperature spikes, I changed to a thermostat. So glad...makes life easier!! :)

I've come to the conclusion that my thermometer has seen its day. I wokeup to find108* again. This time it is obviously not that hot, nor even close. My dimmer is about half way where it had been all the way up without issue before. It thinks my room temp is 85, when its more like 70. Time to invest in a temp gun.

Your going to give me a heart attack:(. I hope it is the thermometer is damaged. Always have backups, even if it's a few cheap ones so that you can compare them.

Yeah. I stuck a human glass thermometer to the floor and it read 99, a bit high but not deadly. I lowered the dimmer a hair and have it back at 95. Next paycheck I think ill invest in a good thermostat. I was hoping to put it off a few more weeks til my new rack was done but looks like I need it now.
