Heat Tape on this Wood?

I am gonna put some heat tape on shelves like these. I just wanna make sure it is safe to put the heat tape directly on this would or would it be more wise to put some insulation material between the tape and wood? Thanks in advance

Have you ever made a rack with these shelves badhabit?

I have seen many people use them for snake and dragon racks.
My rack is made from strait plywood with heat cable directly on it. It gets hot, but not near hot enough to cause a fire. I have a few shelves that my measurements were off so there is a layer of cardboard on the shelf with heat cable taped right too it, no problems there either. Hope this helps.

Do you know where you got those shelves? I would love to find some of those and make a beardie rack

I bought them off of a guy but they sell them at Meijer for $50 I believe.
