Heat Trap Hides...?

I have a special needs gecko and I want to give her soft things in her tank so she doesn't get hurt if she runs into them.

Does Styrofoam trap heat if I were to place a hide in a tank? And is it ok for them to climb on without their toes getting caught?

Also, would hot gluing spongy foam to plastic, inside and out, trap heat as well?

styrofoam duse trap heat thats why the use it to make coolers i dont know about the rest
