Is the heater under the tank? If you put it inside and throw a tile over it it will get hot where you will have to tone it down.

You can always turn your thermostat up higher in small increments until you get to the ideal warm side temp. I have had one or two thermostats in the past that I had to set to 100 - 105 in order to get my warm side surface temp into that 90 - 93 degree range. Just make sure you adjust the thermostat in small amounts and monitor the temp over several hours to make sure you don't over shoot the the temp range.
It could also have something to do with the placement of the temp probe from the thermostat.

The probe for both thermostat and thermometer are side by s8de laying on repti carprt in center of where the UTH is..I would much rather use the tile but it is very textured on bottom causing air povqkets..
