:i have a ten gallon tank for my leo and an under the tank heater...i have noticed that during the day its right aroud 88-90 but at night its sill like 86-88..i have read that it should drop into the low 80's or high 70's...how is this possible with a UTH? and is it a bad thing for my tak to be that 86-88 at night? i just got my first leo a week ago and still trying to figure everything out so any help would be nice:)

Hello if I may ask you what watt is your under tank heater? it might be to high of a tempature. And yes it is to drop at night it sould not be that hight for nighttime.

Hum.. if your uth is on 24/7 it's normal that the temp doesnt drop that much. Your UTH is alright don't worry. Your cold side will be a bit cooler at night but I don't think it's a big deal if it doesnt drop to low 80's.

And btw.. wrong section.. ;)

your warm end should be 88-95 deg 24/7. your cool end will fluctuate during day and night time
