Im a bit confuse on the lighting and heating for the crestie. My room is pretty cold rite now. At nite i have a 15 watt night glo bulb, for day i have a 15 watt day daylight bulb from zoo med. I recently just moved her to an 18x1824 exo terra terrarium and the 15 watt doesnt get the temp over 72 during the day. At night shes fine with the 15 watt which makes the temp around 68. Any ideas on a good way to warm her up during the day? She gets sunlight. Also is a uvb bulb ok for them?

72° should be fine for a crestie, my room temps hover between 70-75 right now.
Out of curiosity, is there an air conditioning vent in the room? If so, just closing it down some (mine is only open about 1/4 of the way)
will raise your room temps a little.

I second that; 72 is fine. I don't heat my cresties at all, but I keep my place pretty warm (if they're cold, I'm cold, and I don't like being cold). And there is some arguement about using UVB light. I personally don't use any, and I've had one of my guys since he was a baby, and he never developed any bone disease or anything. The reason most herps need UVB is to produce vitamin D, but crested gecko diet supplies that so I don't think special lighting is necessary. Just my opinion though.

I personally believe that any lighting in a Rhacodactylus tank is strictly for aesthetics, the geckos usually spend all day hiding anyway, so the UV bulb would be essentially a waste of money.if you do want lighting, do like my mom .she insists on it for her geckos, but she uses flourescent grow lights for her Pothos in the cages.that way, she gets the light that her plants need, but doesn't overheat the geckos.

thank you for the advice. I think i should add too that at the moment i am at home with the parents in the chicago area in a split level house. they keep the heat on 70 but my room is rarely gets above 65 inless the temp outside is above 70, which with chigago the weather is everywhere. when i had her in a 12x12x18 it seemed ok, the 12x12x24 just needs a little help until it gets warmer, or until i move in june or july. my room does get alot of sunlight but its been pretty cloudy latley. i just dont want to make her too warm but she seems to like sitting under so i assume she cold. would a 26 watt be too much? i hear people saying 40 and 60 watts and i dont see a reason for that high of a wattage.
