:clown:I'm not completely sure on how to set up the heat and lighting in the tank for my leopard gecko! I am pretty sure i'll use a under tank heater with a thermostat but other than that I have no idea what to do...so how do I arrange the light and heating other than that? (btw sorry im asking so many questions on this forum I just want to make sure I get the habitat right before I get the gecko so she can be happy and healthy:main_thumbsup:)

I am no expert but I do have 3 leopard geckos and have done much research on care and housing. You definately want a UTH on one side of the tank that covers around 1/3 of the size of the enclosure. You want to have it mid 90's on that side. A themostat is the best way to keep temps even, I use herpstat from www.thebeanfarm.com. I also use Ultratherm UTH's from the same place, they seem to have a more even heat, but store bought UTH's work fine also. Make sure to double check your temps with a thermometer with a probe or infrared temp gun. Some UTH's get very hot... As for light as long the room is light during the day and dark at night you dont need any other light, as Leopard Geckos are nocturnal and dont need ultraviolet light. Just be sure to supplement calcium with d3 once a week. Don't be sorry for asking questions, its better you ask than bring an animal into the wrong enviorment. I wish I found this site when I started with Leo's it would have made things much easier.
