Heating Enclosed Tanks

Is there an effective and safe way to heat 1/4 inch wood without having a fire risk or a risk of injury to the critters inside it?
Or should I just give up?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use a heating lap. I know people are against it on here but I use them successfully with my leos. Maybe just get a cermic heat admitter.

Could you place an under tank heater safely on wood? How do other people do it?

I have placed my heat tapes on a piece of plywood (1/4 inch thickness) to raise it up a little and close the gap between the bottom of the cage and table without any problem.

Most heat sources (heat tape, UTH, heat pad, etc) does not get hot enough to ignite plywood. There would have to be a series of things that went wrong to catch it on fire, and I mean some serious series of problems to cause it.
