so I just bought a large heating pad to put underneath the two tubs i bought for my leos that i am buying. I am planning to quarantine them before moving them in with my female in the 20L. So i don't want to stick the heat mat on the bottom of the cage any ideas on how to use the mat without the sticky part being sticky? and the other question was i plan on keep them on the floor of my room, and i don't want to heat mat to scorch the carpet, any ideas on what to put underneath? or if a towel will simply keep my carpet from burning?

i dont think i follow your question, are you asking where the heat mat goes? Also i have heard of them scorching carpet, you could try aluminum foil, thats good for not conducting heat.

i don't want the sticky part on the tubs. haha I know where they go, I just don't want a scorched carpet or the sticky part to be sticky and I think it will melt the plastic that is on it currently.

get a large piece of glass and stick the pad to it. Then set the tubs on top of the glass. You could use the heat pad/tubs over and over.

Also think of it this way... your tongue is 98.6*. If you put your tongue on the carpet is it going to catch fire?

if you want, with the glass, you can hot glue sopme 20 oz. bottle lids to all 4 corners and make it a "raised" platform.
