Heating Plastic Tub

I'm thinking of buying a leopard Gecko soon for now I want to use a plastic tub housing. I keep my reptiles in my basement it can get somewhat cold especially in the winter. Will heat cable or UTH's keep the tub warm enough or is there some way to install a heat lamp over a plastic tub?

I personally wouldnt put a uth on a plastic container. There is usually a warning on the package against it. Being that light irratates leos you might just want to save up and get a 20gal. long tank instead and then get a UTH. JMO
