Heating with UTH

Hello, I am currently heating my gecko's tank with just a uth. Her warm side is 90F and her cool side is 80F. The ambient air temperature in the cage is usually around 77F. My main question is if I should be pairing her uth with a ceramic heat emitter to achieve a warmer ambient air temperature? Also, I am very confused on the night heating requirements of these guys. I've read that at night their cages can get as low as 65F (my room is kept at 75F for the sake of my pet hedgehog), but I've also read that uth's are meant to be kept on at all times, which would mean that her cage would never get cooler than 80F. I currently have her uth on a timer that shuts it off 12 hours of the day, I'm wondering if this is what I should be doing for her?

Just leave the heat on 24/7, as they do not need the night time drop. Mine have never had a heat drop, and they are perfectly healthy and fine. Most experienced keepers would agree also :) As for the temps, It sounds perfectly fine to me. As long as the ambient temps don't drop below 65, and the ground temperature stays at 89-95 degrees fahrenheit on the floor, you don't need any supplemental heat. I hope this answers some of your questions! :D
