i know its not a big deal for most of you guys who own several or have owned one for years, but i held my first ball python today. I was in a pet store and was talking with the lady and she took one out, it was a baby probably only 8 inches, if that. I asked if i could hold it, ive been researching bps for a long time now and have seen a ton at reptile shows and pet stores but i never actually held one before. Or any snake for that matter. They feel so cool, it was just chilling out in my hands, they are so nice and peaceful, this experience only makes me want one even more!

Uh oh... Watch out, now. Those little buggers are dangerous. They lull you in with their cuteness and friendly personalities and the next thing you know, you have 10 of 'em.
All kidding aside, though, they are a wonderful breed of snake. They have such a gentleness to them, you can't help but love them.

Yeah, if you have the time, and have done the research and the snake seems to be well taken care of at the pet shop. Why not get it? You seem to like them a bit. I say go and set up the cage, and pick up your new pet. Maybe you can even see if the pet shop will put that one on hold for you, while you get everything ready, if that is the one you want.

I would like to get one from a reptile show though, they have a nice selection, usually a bit better in prices and they take care of their animals for the most part. But yes, i have to say after holding that little guy it sure is tempting.....
