Hey, Just joined my name's Devin. I've been interested in getting my own Leopard Gecko, so I've been trying to read up as much as i can. Thought this would be a good start!
20 gallon is definitely better. 20 long, which is 30" x 12" x 12", (as opposed to a 20 tall, which is 24" x 12" x 16") is the best of the two 20 gallons. 10 gallons can be made to work, but a 20 long will give you an excellent temp gradient. I keep my warm side in the low 90's and the cool side stays in the mid- to high-70's. Plus more room is good, as your leo can easily reach 8 inches. And that way you have plenty of room for your three hides (I'd recommend four if you're using a 20 long - one hot, one medium, one cool, and a humid hide in the middle) and then room left over for decor. Thanks for the welcome! I've mostly been reading up on habitats first, and plan on starting to get one set up the right way before i even start looking at Leo's. Stuck between a 10 gallon or a 20 gallon though, mostly because some people have been saying sometimes with a 10 gallon it's difficult to keep a cool side and a hot side?
