Hi everyone I know im a little late with this but better late than never
My name is Zoe, im 29 (cant believe im 30 next year!!) and i live in Yorkshire in the UK.
I have liked lizards and stuff since i was a teenager. My dad had tree frogs when i was about 4 and a corn snake when i was 14 so "different" pets dont seem so strange.
When i was about 15 i wanted an iguana but my mum said no so i ended up getting a hamster instead :sad3:
At 18 i moved into a house with my boyfriend and got a cat, never really thought about a lizard.
Then for some reason in January i fell asleep on the couch and had a dream i had an iguana. I woke up and said "i want a lizard" :laugh4:
My BF is awesome and said if i wanted one and did my research i could. After looking up info about iguana's i realised i wasnt ready for one so i looked around at other types of lizard. I stumbled upon leopard geckos and instantly fell in love with them I did my research for about a month, looking at the internet and got a book.
It seems sudden but i am very dedicated to something once i set my mind to it. My BF was impressed by how much i had looked into geckos and the next pay day we went to town and got Yoshi :main_thumbsup:
It was very exciting but at the same time scarey. I joined these forums and feel honored to be a part of them. People have been so helpful with problems ive had, i have learnt a hell of a lot from other posts and it has made keeping my little ones so much easier
I am onto my 3rd now and a day has never gone by that i have regretted getting my Leopard Geckos We have spent a lot of cash on them getting their vivs and trying to make them as nice for the geckos as we can, even having to buy stuff again in bigger sizes as Yoshi is a big boy and has outgrown his smaller stuff. But the joy they bring to us is priceless My only regret is that i didnt get them sooner.
My nieces, 9 and 4, always love visiting so they can see them and help me feed them and its nice that they can see something that is different to your normal fluffy pets and hopefully still take an interest in them as they get old enough to have their own
I am hoping to breed my oldest 2 next year so hopefully things will go well and i will have many happy years with my little friends
I thank every single person on this forum, as without you i would be a nervous wreck :laugh4:
Take care peeps and thank you for having me along :2thumbsup:
