Hello everyone!

My name is Alex. I recently got my little Leopard Gecko at a reptile show. My mom won the habitat that we put him in the first week he was home. Now I have him in a 10gallon tank. I've been doing lots of research on how to do the best to take care of my little Merlin (Mother named him). But yea, he's an amazing new addition and I love him.

Thank you! I've been slowly trying to get him used to me so as not to stress him out too much. Last thing I want is a stressed out lizard. I am doing the best to make sure he has the best care possible for what I can afford for him. So far he seems to enjoy his home and loves the cooler side of the tank, which makes sense I guess? I am going to get a under the tank heater pad for him tomorrow so he'll have that on one side of the tank. Everyone that's seen him loves him and it's just awesome. I hope to be able to upload pictures of him soon! ^_^

Welcome to the forums!

As to your gecko.
He's kinda pale... it's hard to tell what markings he has from the angle the pic was taken.
I'm curious, what is that substrate, I don't think I've seen anything like it before.
Make sure you get some powdered vitamins and calcium with D3 if you don't have it yet.

Stop by the General Care and Husbandry section, lots of people have tons of posts there, and there are sticky notes at the top of each section with good information for anyone with leos.

Enjoy your little guy!

Thank you, I am trying to figure out what kind he is actually. I was told he's a leopard gecko but now I see there's all kinds of leopard geckos. This is the best picture of him I have available. Sorry for the blurriness, but really, if anyone can tell me what kind he is I'd be forever grateful so I can get the best care for him! http://www.flickr.com/photos/simply-dreams/5724257595/
Alex, the pic's are abit blurred but if you click on Home and scroll down you'll see section's in which you can post, if you add it in one of those someone will answer you quickly.:D and what leo you have and colour.

Okay thank you, and the substrate is paper towels. The guy we got him from said shredded paper towels works just fine. However, I think that's not the best idea for him. I am going to get a different padding for him today as well as the Under Tank Heater and vitamins for the food for him. He seems to be doing okay though, seems to be drinking and he ate one of the mealworms this morning, and must have eaten one last night. There were seven total, and down to five so it makes sense.
