Hello everyone!
I'm looking to get a leopard gecko, probably sometime between late september/mid october.
A little about me, I owned a bearded dragon that I bought from petsmart (lesson learned), that unfortunately had a parasite (most likely coccidia). I did everything I could to try to bring it back to health, I didn't have it in me to give it back to the pet store, long story short I did not succeed, although the vet (herp specialist) insisted my temps/diet/hand feeding and administrating medication were all done correctly.
Anyway that's about the extent of my reptile experience. For the last few weeks now I've been researching what you need for a leopard gecko. They look much easier to manage than bearded dragons, and I like that they live longer and aren't as likely to bite.
What I need help with though, is where to go for a breeder online that's priced under $100. I don't need a fancy morph, a regular leopard gecko is just fine. My biggest concerns are their reputation (I really don't want to get a sick or injured one in the mail, I'm already feeling uneasy about shipping an animal as it is), quality (they aren't selling ones prone to MBD or anything like that), and their policy on getting a sick/DOA animal (a lot of sites I come across seem to say you have to call them within like an hour of receiving shipment, otherwise if you find out a week later your leopard has something wrong with it you're stuck).
I already checked into pet stores and reptile shows within reasonable driving distance, and there's really nothing in my area (only petsmarts, 1 reptile store that is really poor quality and a very small reptile show that I read doesn't have many leopard geckos).
Sorry for the long post, any help is much appreciated. Thank you!!!
