Hey guys, I'm not very good with the genetics and stuff and since i will be breeding this season, I need to know what I would call the babies... My enigma I got from Ohio Gecko is great but it says ph RAPTOR. Is that the same as HET RAPTOR?? And if i were to cross a Tangerine Engima ph RAPTOR with just a Tangerine what would I call the babies and what would they be like???? And I'm confused with the dominant and recessive traits.. Like what is it... Could you maybe give me an answer. And if I were to cross a Sunglow with a Tangerine what would the babies be called... Thank you if you know....

The ph stands for possible het so you'd have to breed to tremper and an eclipse or to a RAPTOR to see if the possible is fact. Personally I would do this before breeding to the Tang to take the guessing out, but if not, you'd have 50% chance of Tang Enigmas and 50% chance of Tangs unless the Tang is het eclipse or Tremper.

And how would I know if I just bred her to the Tang that babies are or aren't raptors since the enigma has orange eyes.. would it be possible for one eye to be orange and the other red? That would be cool

RAPTORs are by definition red-eyed. APTORs are RAPTORs but without the red eyes. The enigma gene is generally seen to be an enhancing gene for certain traits. It can brighten eye and body color, as well as show its own traits. More than likely it will not have one enigma eye and one red eye, I believe. If they looked like RAPTORs with enigma eyes I'd probably call them Enigma APTORs, but I'm not sure. Due to the fact that the RAPTOR/APTOR is based on albino, which is recessive, you can only get RAPTORS or APTORS if both parents have the trait. That would be Eclipse and Tremper to get RAPTORS, I believe...
To answer the question about Sunglow x Tangerine, first, a Sunglow is a Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail Albino. Generally Tremper line Albino, though some other lines of albino with similar morphs are also sometimes called Sunglow. If your gecko is just Tang, not SHTCT, I bet you'd end up with a mix of Tangerine and hypo tang babies, as I believe Super Hypo involves two copies of the hypo gene, if I've been understanding the "super" term correctly. If you are talking about your Tang Enigma, roughly 50% will be enigma as well. And since she is ph RAPTOR, which is a version of tremper albino, it'd possible to get a few Sunglows if she is crossed with a Sunglow, providing she is definitively het RAPTOR, as they both have the albino gene present. Even if she were proven het RAPTOR, I think it'd still be a low probability to get Sunglows.
Dominant traits, basically, mean they will show up above other traits, phenotypically. Some dominant traits are co-dominant, meaning it only needs one copy of the gene to show the trait. An example would be the Mojave or the Pastel morphs of ball pythons, as well as other basic morphs. A plain Mojave has one co-dom mojave gene and one normal bp gene. Two gives the "super" form. In the case of the Mojave and the other closely related genes, having any two of these allelic genes present can create the super, which is a blue eyed leucistic ball python.
Recessive traits are pretty much the opposite of dominant traits. Often the dominant trait will cover the recessive trait, though that isn't always the case (if the individual is homozygous for the recessive trait, sometimes it will beat out the dominant trait, as is seen in the Black Hole leopard gecko). There needs to be two copies of the recessive gene present in the individual for it to show up phenotypically, though it will be present in the genotype.
(Phenotype=visible traits; genotype=genetic traits. Something that phenotypically shows a trait will have that trait in its genotype, but not all genotypic traits are shown in the phenotype.)
