Help! Is this natural?

I've had my gecko since august, and she has been doing great. I'd imagine she's about 5 months old.

Just today, within the last 5 minutes, I saw her doing a move my dog likes to do.. Licking her ass. Well, I think she was doing that at least lol. It freaked me out at first because it looked like the bottom of her tail was a little detached, but once I walked up she quickly hid her stuff and that relieved my fears.

But still, is this natural?

It really just kinda freaked me out, and when I'd go up to the tank to look closer, she'd kinda hide it away, then as soon as i turned my head she went back at it.

well why would my male do it could it have been he wanted to mate??

That could be the reason. I know males will do it after mating. I have even seen my male clean himself even when he was denied.

It could very well be a he, I've just checked a few times and there wasn't a V-shape of pores last time I checked, but it's been awhile.

I'll have a look later, no pics unfortunately, I find it difficult enough to get my eyes looking under "it", much less a camera lol.

I have witnessed cresties doing that. A male licked himself, freaked me out too. I thought he went into a prolapse!

When I was cleaning out the tank today, I put my leo in a clear shoebox without any paper towels, lifted it above my head.. and my not-so-expert opinion (comparing to online gender guides) would say it is a male.

I'll post a pic soon.
