I just want to see what else I can do, to improve my shipping method. I’ve currently only shipped out 2 geckos (1 shipment), and although that shipment was successful, I want to know what else I can do to make my shipping be more successful.
Here is my current method:
First I take the box out, tape up the bottom, and insert the styrofoam:
I then take a piece of aluminum bubble wrap (no idea what it is actually called), and place it into the box:
I then get the pre-punched deli cup down:
Then I place the gecko with a slightly moistened paper towel into the deli cup, and tape the deli cup closed with 4 pieces of electric tape (not taped up in the picture):
Then I place the gecko into the lined box, with appropriate heat or cold packs, and water dissolvable packing peanuts:
I then flip over the aluminum bubble wrap, and place the last styrofoam piece onto of the package:
I then tape up the top of the box, with several piece of packing tape. I just didn’t want to tape up the box, and then have to get the gecko out of it later, for the picture:
I then appropriately label the box with the shipping and return address, as well as labels that state that there are live harmless animals inside the package that read as followed:
Shipping Address
Receivers Name: ***** *****
Street Address: *****
City: *****
State: *****
Zip: *****
Return Address
Shippers Name: ***** *****
Street Address: *****
City: *****
State: *****
Zip: *****
With this label on the all four sides:
LiVe HARMLESS REPTILE(S)
PLEASE HANDLE WITH CARE
And this label on the top of the box:
LiVe HARMLESS REPTILE(S)
This box contains _ leopard geckos (Eublepharis macularius)
PLEASE HANDLE WITH CARE
DON’T LEAVE ON FRONT PORCH
DON’T PLACE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT
Requires Signature
Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks, Nick
