Sorry for the all caps I am just really nervous and don't know what is wrong with my gecko. Part of me thinks it may be something with his pooping system (if thats what you call it) or is tail got partially ripped off but I don't know how that could have happened!

About your leo:
- Sex male
- Age & Weight about three I think but I don't know weight he's kind of big
- How long have you owned your leo two to three years
- Where was he/she obtained (ex. Pet store, breeder, wild caught, friend) a rescue

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo about twice a week
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now. he was scratching at his face and Ithought he was trying to shed because his skin is a little dull. He also was in his hide and rolled over when I came but I think he was just turned around funny and was trying to crawl out
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe. he got some shed in his eye once
B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal) No
- When was the last time he/she went- to be honest I am not completely sure.
C) Problem
- just tonight I noiticed red, hardened blood type stuff coming from underneath at the base of my geckos tail. It looks ripped and for some stupid reason my email isn't getting photos from my phone right now!! i think the only way he could have cut it would have been when I took him out a couple nights ago but I didn't notice anything then when I put him back in.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size 20 gallon long on sides
- Type (ex. glass tank)
- Type of substrate repticarpet
- Hides, how many, what kind three on rock hide, one side rock hide, and one plastic one
B) Heating
- Heat source lamps
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side) uh... The hot side is usually around 80-90 and the cool side is 70-80
- Method of regulating heat source timer
- What are you using to measure your temps a zoomed thermometer
- Do you have any lights (1 daytime lamp 1 nightime red lamp and a uv during the day)
C) Cage mates
none
Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet
- What you're feeding (how often, how much) I refill mealworms when needed and usually leave three in there at a time but he doesn't eat much...
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect) left in dish occasional hand feeding sometimes the mealworms roam free
B) Supplements (describe how often)
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands) he has he has reptivite in a dish
- What are you gut loading food with they just eat what is in the bag that they come with

gah, now that I am filling this out I'm realizing I'm not a very good gecko owner.

I had an extremely similar situation just a month or two ago. If you go to my profile maybe you can look at the pictures I posted and compare them. What I ended up doing was taking him to the vet and he was prescribed anti inflammatory and antibiotics he's 100% fine now, better than ever actually. I would suggest searching for a good herp vet in the area and making an appointment. Not an emergency appointment as they will definitely charge you extra but make sure you tell them it needs to be as soon as possible. I walked out of my vet only paying $91 total so if the place you find is similar it shouldn't be a crazy amount of money. As long as your gecko is eating and remaining fairly active, I wouldn't freak out. Just take him in and they will most likely know what to do. Hope all goes well
