Hello. I've had this pair of leopard geckos for about a year now, they're both healthy and apparently a male and female, as they mated yesterday. I've constructed a separate heat controlled incubator according to a few different websites guidelines.

1. I've been mad googling, but am wondering if there's any critical tips for hatching and raising the little ones.

2. Should I be separating these two? I haven't noticed any violence...

3. I'm attaching a photo of the female. I bought her as a normal from the pet store, but she looks different. Any ideas on what type she is?

Thank you for any feedback!

Sigh.

Do you want them to breed? Do you know about breeding? Do you understand morphs and genetics? Do you know what you're going to do with 10-20 babies? Can you afford to house, feed, heat, and supplement them all? If the answer to any of those is no, then yes.

Yes, I want them to breed, space and cost is no issue and the pet store we bought them from is willing to buy the babies that we don't keep. I'm just looking for more information so as to ensure they're all as healthy as possible. I was just confused because some websites about breeding said to separate the male from female after mating, but without further explanation.

Even if leopard geckos seem to get along fine, they can still get in the occasional fight and one or both can end up hurt. I think that's why most sites recommend separation.

If you really want to breed I'd recommend buying a male and a female from a reputable breeder who can give you a genetic breakdown of what you have so that the babies you produce are healthier and of higher quality.

Looks super hypo not enough orange to consider carrot tail. I really don't recomend breeding geckos with unknown genetics, but it's already done. I was advised to keep my hatchlings in the incubator for a week after hatching and worked for me. Getting the little ones to eat can be difficult ussually won't eat until first shed. And keep them moist in the beginning. I'm sure more experienced breeders here can help more.
