So I am building my own rack (my brother is helping me because I really am not that great with tools). I have decided on heating with heat cable. It won’t be too much more of a hassle since we are already using a router on the sides to give each shelf a bit more support. I have done hours of research and the original plan was to use flexwatt but I have decided to go with heat cable because the flexwatt truly scares me after reading all the horror stories about it. I understand there are risks with any heating element but I just feel safer with the cable and I have read that many people use it and love it. I will run two parallel rows or cable per shelf. I am just curious as to what kind of heat cable to use, Where to get it? Also what kind of thermostat works well with heat cable? It is going to be a 5 shelf melamine rack that holds 3-15qt tubs per self.
