A month or so ago, I bought a uromastyx. I had one before, so I knew about the care. Very hot basking spot and mainly vegans. She is about a little over a year old. She was fat and everything, and active. So I set up her cage, and gave her greens. She didn't eat for over a week. Over that week, I tried setting her up with other veggie items and crickets, but she wouldn't eat them either.
Finally, I gave her a superworm, and she ate it up. So her diet has been superworms ever since. I also have leos, so the supers go to the leos too, and supers are 50 for $4....Expensive. So sometimes, I would have to substitute the uro's food with waxworms, which I have fed to it twice. I don't want it to be obese.
I know that uros need water, but it won't take water due to it's veggie hatred. Each time veggies are offered, she shakes her head and walks all over them. So I have to soak her in luke warm water, so she can get some water in her.
Are there other meat items I can feed her besides supers and waxies? She is going to get bigger, and will soon need more than 10-20 a day. She was housed with a Beardie at the pet store with veggies and some supers, but the beardie may had been the one eating the veggies.
