Anyone good at IDing spiders? I need some help! (Sorry, no pictures, this guy got flushed.)

At work on Saturday I disturbed a spider that I thought might be a Brown Recluse. After a bit of research, I know that's not what it was, but I can't find out what it really is. Because I couldn't get a pic, I'll just have to describe it the best I can. This is really buggin me...

It was a medium sized spider, the leg span was easily the size of a quarter. As far as body shape goes, it is very (VERY) similar to a Brown Recluse. I think it was a female because the abdomen was bulbous, roughly the size of a small pea, and the spinnerettes (sp?) made a visible point.

The legs and thorax were a medium brown. No hairs on the legs that I could see. They were somewhat "meaty" but long at the same time. The legs looked a bit translucent as well.

The abdomen had no pattern on it at all. It was a medium gray/tan ... more gray than tan. It was hairy.

The thorax is what's tripping me up. If you took a Brown Recluse pattern and flipped the colors, that's pretty much what I saw. It was a bit more striped then violin shaped. Medium brown in the middle, dark brown flanking it on either side.

It looks similar to a Hobo spider as well - only the legs weren't hairy.

If you've got any idea what it could be, help me out!

Possibly Dysdera curocata? You may want to check with the Illinois college database.Kind of hard to say without pics. There are roughly close to about 500 spider species that are indigous to Illinois.;)
