help with bettas / fighting fish

my uncle keeps a betta in his coldwater ( i always say coldwater , i dno wether its the same as freshwater lol) tank,, i am looking into getting one, he says his is doing ok, but i dno wether i should leave it for a while as the cold winters are coming and i have no heater,, will i be ok to get one or should i leave it

Bettas should have temperatures in the high 70s.

Yeah bettas should have it around 27-8 C, so a heated tank is a must. Remember 1 betta per tank (male)
