Hey, my female Tremper albino leopard gecko does not seem to be coming out of her hide a lot in the day. And she normally does so, any suggestions? And do you think she could eat a pinky, she is 11 1/2" and 97 grams.

Thanks

Well, I have been told myself to only feed a female pinkies if she is having babies. So I wouldn't suggest that.
Though, perhaps it could have something to do with brumation.

Shes a big girl you have. Leopard geckos are nocturnal so they don't usually come out in the day. You could feed a pinky to your big gal, but its just to fatten up your leopard gecko after she laid her eggs.

Leos are nocturnal and albinos are very sensitive to light, that can be the reason why she's not coming out.

Do you see any activity? Does she come out when fed? Does she come out during the evening hours? Any issues with feeding?

A little more info would be great.

Thanks,

What do you mean by activity? She does come out when I feed her. Well I think she comes out in evening hour because i can hear her and she has no problems with eating.

Alot of ours that used to come out when they heard activity in the room do not seem to do so during the winter months. They seem to be alot less active during "brumation" time. As long as she is eating and not loosing weight, I don't think that I would worry too much.

Albinos are more sensitive to lights than all other leos, and they may not come out. Try switching to a UTH if thats the case.
