Hi my leopard gecko refuses to eat anything and is very skinny.
Here's how he looked when I bought him ten days ago

And this how he looks today.

He stopped eating about 2 days ago. I fed him nothing but crickets. Yesterday I feed him some meal-worms but he threw one up. This is what I feed the crickets.

I dust them with this.

His habitat looks like this.

I have trouble keeping the humidity above 30%. I mist his tank every time it goes down to 10% but I try not to wet it too much since I'm using paper towels as substrate. The temperature stays around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong and what I can do to save my gecko?

This is my first time owning a reptile, I thought I did my homework before buying it but it's clear I'm not doing a good job. I love animals and I don't want him to die. I can still return him, but I don't really want to since he's very docile. Please I need help!

He looks pretty bad for only being off food for 2 days. He could have parasites maybe? I am not sure, but if I were you I'd get him to a vet straight away. If you have a warranty from pet shop maybe they will pay for the vet? I'm not sure but he does not look good. I'm sorry you're having this experience, it's definitely not your fault. :(

I'd have to second the suggestion to have a vet check for parasites.

The other thing I would mention is that he needs a spot where the floor surface temperature is 88-92 F in order to properly digest food. Most people provide this spot using an under-tank heater attached to a thermostat/dimmer. The floor temperature is best measuring with an temp gun, but in a pinch, you can also measure it by sticking a digital temperature probe to the floor.

Your best bet would be to go to the vet. They are most likely going to give to a protein paste that you will force feed him which will get some of his weight back and eventually give him the energy to eat. Same exact thing happened to my gecko. Vet is the best option!

Agreed with Indyana. Her care sheet is a great one. You will probably need a thermostat to maintain the correct warm side floor temps and can purchase one either at Pet Co or on Amazon for about $30. Best of luck! [emoji4]
