I dont think she is big enough. I just got her from the pet store like two weeks ago. she was in her quarintine tank. What should i do? she eat great for me.
Wha should i do i dont think she is old enough to breed yet. she wasnt in with my male so must have already been when i bought her. how long do you think i have??? I am really worried now.
She could reabsorb the eggs if they're not fertile.. My female Blizzard did just that. Or you can give her more calcium since thats what get depleted when they make eggs.
i will try? If they are fertile how long would i have until she lays them do you think??? I need as much info as i can get on this right now especially how long i have for her to lay eggs.
I don't think she will re-absorb those eggs. They are pretty developed. John, get a hova-bator and thermostat. lol. You will need them!
You shouldn't worry about her. If she is gravid, she is gravid and you can't make her not gravid so it's not worth worrying about.
Make an egg laying box for her out of a ziplock container. Cut a hole in the top so she can get in. Fill it with peat (make sure it doesn't have any fertilizer in it) and moisten the peat until it's all moist but not soggy. Put the lid back on and put it in with her. She should be alone as well.
As for how long you have...it looks like about a week, week and a half? They are pretty big.
Good Luck! She will be ok. Most males won't breed a female if she says no so she must have been ovulating for her to have been bred. What is her current weight?
Don't stress over it. She will be ok. If she's eating, feed her maybe some waxies or giant mealies coated in calcium. Good Luck again! Let us know how she's doing.
she is little bigger i think than my other two so she may be around 40 grams give or take! Ok i will set it all. I will let you know how i make put if anyone any other info please let me know.
I seen this before 2pm but after reading who posted it and that is with their name I choose not to respond. I figured and "Gecko Master " should know that answer. Sorry if you think I am being a bit sarcastic but just my feeling about it.
Do what you like lol. Almost everything I learned I learned here. But having great breeders not too far from me also helps. I know a whole lot more then I did back in August when I 1st thought about breeding. This place is better then any book or info you can google.
Give her loads of calcium. If you don't her bones will become very brittle or worste she will have seizers and you will be as worried or worste then I am with my female J.
The extra calcium will mainly help with the egg development right now. What happens is if there isn't enough clacium in the system, the gecko's body will take the calcium from the bones.
Make sure you get a thermostat (the best you can afford) with the hova-bator!
she has plenty of calcium in a dish and on all food. so the thermostat the hovabator comes with isnt enough? the one i looked at says it comes with thermostat. i was thinking if she got pregnant before i had her it has to be by a male tremper becuase she was in with a male at the store.
