I bought 2: 9 month female geckos 3 months back and at the time I saw them eat and her first shed was perfect. Then on it went down hill they both stopped eating but one still held its fat the other was losing all its fat, then on the night before she died I held her gave her a warm bath and she pooped which I thought was a good sign, I was looking around trying to find a vet and the next day she was gone. The other girl got skittish and started losing her fat and is still losing it today, she won't eat, and it seems as if she is regurgitating shed skid and the problem is her brother which I bought at the same time was having this problem but I bought cricks and he munched on them so that gave me hope that the female would do the exact same, I was wrong she still isn't eating, she is 10 months old and 32 grams:eek:. What can I try?

Housing conditions a 28 quart tub, a heat pad in a reptile room with ambient of 82. Moist hide with eco-earth, water dish, worm dish (which I monitor), plant.

They may eat when they have it, but they will regurgitate it, keep an eye out. If the sibling died and especially if they were in the same enclosure, the other may also have what the sibling died from.

Yes.............. They lived together............. There symptoms were the same and she is getting skinnier............. I'm just mad at that scum who sold these precious girls to me. Trying to make money and not caring about the animal, yet my question is how is the male doing fine? They had same parents they were just different clutches.

Crypto is passed and not hereditary. It comes from a parasite so if you touch this enclosure and then move to the next without sanitation it can spread or if they were introduced and one had it. I believe I read a paper on it that says it comes from crickets left in the enclosure too long and they eat the feces and that starts the process. If it still is reguring then it needs to go to the vet either it has parasites or chrypto
