Well the title says it all. NYC decided to print out pamphlets on "How to for Heroin" from my understand the pamphlet includes pictures and text on how to shoot up Heroin and sterilization in the hopes to cut back the transmission of diseases and senseless deaths.

Don't know if I agree with this especially since it cost over $30,000 to just get $70,000 pamphlets printed, I think they could have found better use for that money. I understood when they came out with the NYC Condom that could be found anywhere, was free and came with a "How To" Pamphlet but I don't think I get this whole Heroin pamphlet thing. Like if someone is really fiening for a high do you really thing they'll pull out this pamphlet and go Step 1: Sterilize Area, etc.?

the whole idea of this is to be for these people to know about dirty needles and disease that is trasnford by them i do aree there is no point of it but if it helps some people then it works i work at a coffee shop aswell as breed my reptiles and let me tell you i hate cleaning the bathrooms at work there is always needles and other things like crack pipes in there but there is nothing we can do the cops when they are called wont come or they just say throw it out so i do see a point in these phamphletes if it saves one person from a std then its done its job

I just don't get it isn't it already common knowledge to know about dirty needles, the transmission of blood Borne Viruses, overdoses, etc. I've been hearing about this crap since I was in the 5th grade. I would think that most drug users would know of these consequences because they choose to take drugs and use needles. There are already programs out there that will hand out new sterilized needles, among other things.

Why use tax payer money when they should have funded this themselves! Children are going to lose their free metro cards because the MTA and NYC haven't been able to strike a deal, they could have used that money to help students since it will cost them around $22.50 a week to and from school and that's only one way. Not that many parents can afford that especially if they find it hard to get themselves to work! NYC Public Schools and CUNY college are closing, cutting programs and laying off more and more instructors because there's no money but we some how found $32,000 to insure that an addict that obviously DOESN'T want help can continue for the rest of their lives. I honestly think they're making it too easy.

I've never done drugs, hell I've never picked up a cigarette I don't see the city putting much money into me. My grants/scholarships have either been reduces or vanished, bus fares continues to go up, taxes continue to go up and my rent every year goes up but for the city that is so broke 97% most of the time they magically found $32,000 to just print crap out.. it isn't a BIG amount of money but I could think of 10 different things they could have used it for.

I'm just a tad bit annoyed..

I agree it is very stupid! Most of the "users" dont care about Sterilizing or doing it right as long as they get their "fix"...... And yes they could have used it for far better things!! Just my option......
