Hi, New member today.
I'm currently house sitting on the island of Corfu in Greece. Thought I could share a few photos of some of the reptiles found here.

1. Dalmatian Algyroides (Algyroides nigropunctatus). Male in breeding condition. By far the commonest lizard on the island.

2. Sun bathing Algyroides.

No I haven't seen the book. However there are loads of cats wandering around here. I'm surprised there's any lizards left.

Keep an eye out for Caspian turtles, European pond turtles, marginated tortoises, Med geckos, a number of different snakes (vipers, water snakes, and sea snakes, among others), European toads, green toads, European green tree frogs, and more. Good memories.

Indeed, cats are pretty rough on herps. I have a rehab Western fence lizard that my mouser got and damaged one of her eyes. She is fat and sassy, if her eye ever gets better I'll release her.

Mainly Evia and the mainland, as well as some of the tiny islands that aren't named on maps. I haven't been back since I was seventeen, but I spent fourteen summers there. I miss it a great deal. My father is Greek, so I have family there and went in order to reconnect with the roots of my father's culture.
