Hey everyone, my real name is david connolly. i literally just a few hours ago got 2 female blazing blizzard leopard geckos, born date of sept 6 and sept 27 of 2015, and a 86 gram snow blizzard( he thinks its a snow blizzard, was a tad unsure) male from someone who had to give them up and was massively upset by it, but wanted to find the right home and so he did! Im familiar with geckos, but never owned them before but i have other reptile experience so this is a new venture for me but he gave me everything i needed since well, he owned it all. i will include pics of everything for now, its only temporary for now until i can grab better water dishes, i was thinking of transferring them to 2 separate 20 gallon tanks or grab a nicer looking rack system since maybe eventually ill breed. pics are below and im happy to be here, thanks for your help and warm welcome.

p.s: for now im just looking for to get them settled in a proper terrarium and learn all i can. im very quick study and i understand a lot already, specially since the one female has MBD, i have calcium/vitamin d, i have superworms, waxworms that he gave me, and ill pick up mealworms tomorrow.

thanks

-Charizard/David Connolly

Sorry for the blah quality pics lighting is bad, plus where i put them is only for now, need to think where i want to put them/i want them on a stand, hence wanting to swap to terrarium while im at it but unsure if i want to do it right away. Plus right now they are settling in.

hey thanks for the link, i knew most of the basics because ive read em before but this one was perfect because it provides hte most info and thank you ive learned quit a bit from it, currently the UTH are under performing or the just need more time, currently the males is at 78.1 and the females is at 76, its rising i guess it just needs time to rise. i was given a rack for them. i do want to switch to a terrarium so i am currently searching for the right one. i will keep an eye on them through the night for temps, otherwise ill buy new uths, and buy new terrariums later this week. currently this is what im working with, stuff given to me by the previous owner, but the tissue box was mine since the male didnt have a hide big enough for him. the previous owner had made a layout with the molding clay for reptiles, and its currently drying for the male, with a hide and water/food bowls.

What brand is the UTH? Some are just not worth a flip.

I know one of the big box stores is have a $1 per gallon sale, not sure when it ends though. You're welcome for the info, I find it the least confusing but most informative care sheets out there.

when its a basic care sheet i have to many questions, and they dont have the answer so this one definitely had a lot of answers and its great, the more info i have better i understand, less info the more im confused lol.

has anyone tried a bioactive set up? ive seen a few people do it and the group i belong to just goes and says check the files its in there but have yet to see one labeled so i was curious about if anyone had this set up or not? its definitely something id like to try specially since i hate to put them in lil tubs with just paper towels or newspaper. id like to try something a bit better, because i find its worth it.

the UTH is Zoo Med, which ive experienced good and bad with, i find that they are kinda iffy usually decent quality and you get lucky finding a good one that works well for a long period. like i said i was given all this today when i picked these guys up. so id like to replace and give them a better home.
